Wall Street Journal Radio (www.wsjradio.com) has taken delivery of an Axia console and audio networking gear, to be used in its network origination facilities in Monmouth, New Jersey. WSJ Radio is a major provider of financial news to a network of over 350 US radio stations, including such programs as The Wall Street Journal Report, Barron’s On Investment and The Dow Jones Money Report.

The sale, made by Broadcasters General Store of Ocala, Florida, includes a 12-position Element 2.0 radio console, several analog line nodes and microphone nodes, and an assortment of mic and headphone control panels for guest and producer positions.

The Axia IP-Audio system allows broadcasters to build audio networks of any size using standard switched Ethernet to connect a few rooms, or an entire facility. Axia networks have a total system capacity of more than 10,000 audio streams, and can carry hundreds of digital stereo (or nearly a hundred surround) channels over a single CAT-6 cable, eliminating much of the cost normally associated with wiring labor and infrastructure.
