10 Omnia-4.5fm Audio Processors Debut On-Air
20 December 2002, Cleveland Ohio, USA
P+P Nachrichtentechnik, German representatives for Telos and Omnia, have completed the sale and installation of 10 Omnia-4.5fm digital audio processors for non-commercial public radio stations in Lower Saxony.
Omnia-4.5fm was chosen after extensive research by the Niedersaechsischen Landesmedienanstalt (Lower Saxony Institute for National Media) for use on 10 “Buergerfunk,” or “Citizen’s Radio” FM stations.
“Public broadcasters as well as commercial stations must follow the ITU’s BS-412 specifications, which place strict controls on subcarrier deviation and multiplex power limitation,” says Detlef Pagel, Technical Director of the Niedersaechsischen Landesmedienanstalt. “Deutche Telekom has already certified Omnia audio processors as meeting these specifications; that, along with Omnia-4.5’s wealth of processing capabilities, password protection features and price, made it a perfect choice.”
Omnia-4.5fm features 96 kHz processing with 24-bit digital resolution, five bands of limiting, an easy-tonavigate full-color active-matrix TFT display and a three-part Bass Enrichment section that delivers clean, loud bass response. 10Base-T Ethernet and RS-232 ports provide remote control; an optional PCMCIA modem card is also available.
